This word has caused much confusion when referring to the Old Testament. Many erroneously believe that everyone in the Old Testament are Jews and that Torah is only for the Jewish people. This could not be farther from the truth. The New Testament Greek labels all people of Hebrew descent as Jews, but this is not the case. The Old Testament makes a distinction and explains that Jews are only 1/12th of Israel as only descendants of Judah are considered Jews.
